EASTMAN EXR Sound Recording Film 2378/3378 (ESTAR) is a high contrast, orthochromatic black-and-white film designed for recording variable-area sound track negatives with a tungsten light source, and/or producing digital sound track negatives.

This blue-sensitive black-and-white film has very high resolution and incorporates a yellow dye, which is removed during processing, to provide very high acutance.
