Driveway up the valley, Winterburn
This driveway, which is also a public footpath, leads to Winterburn Wood Farm and then on the Winterburn Reservoir.

As this is a private road, with a footpath right-of-way only, but the bridge looks like one on a public road. Then I noticed that the driveway leads to Winterburn Reservoir, so the bridge was probably built by the Leeds and Liverpool Canal... (more)

This was originally a ford, but a causeway has been made with three pipes for normal flows. Storm flows will overtop the causeway, and the fencing, suspended from a metal pole, is to catch debris.
