23rd IOPD Conference

The International Observatory of Participatory Democracy – OIDP is an international network of more than a thousand cities, organizations and research centers that implement and exchange experiences of participatory democracy at local level. The 2024 OIDP conference will be held in Valongo, Portugal, October 17-19. The forums and debates at this conference will be mainly dedicated to identifying the forms and mechanisms of participatory democracy that best defend communities from authoritarian drifts based on disinformation, typical of some populist phenomena.
