Connecticut Safety Academy

The Connecticut Safety Academy offers a wide range of workshops focused on current and developing topics applicable to all local roadway users. Safety Academy classes are offered free of charge to all participants. Participants are awarded the designation of Safety Academy Champion, at our annual graduation ceremony, following the completion of 40 Safety Academy credit hours.

Timely topics are presented each year. Here is a sample of some of our topics:

  • Road Safety Assessments
  • Safe Transportation for Every Pedestrian (STEP)
  • Sign Installation & Maintenance
  • Speed Management
  • ADA Self Assessments & Transition Plans
  • Complete Streets
  • Low-Cost Safety Improvements
