The Team of the Associate Vice President for Graduate Education (AVPGE) supports the quality and productivity of graduate degree and professional programs at Chapman University. Its responsibilities, consistent with the recommendations of the national Council of Graduate Schools’ (2019), include
- Ensuring strategic, comprehensive approaches to graduate and professional student recruitment, retention, progression, and completion (represented by the acronym R2PC).
- Promoting student success and well-being across programs and fostering collaboration among individual programs and disciplines.
- Raising the profile of Chapman graduate programs, communicating the value of graduate and professional education to prospective students, the community, employers, and funders.
- Helping to create economies of scale when it comes to the administration and delivery of graduate degree and professional programs, potentially reducing costs, especially those related to systems and technology.
- Helping to ensure consistency of policies across graduate and professional programs and reducing the likelihood of challenges created by administrative decisions.
- Collecting and analyzing data to support university decisions about graduate degree and professional programs.
