Welcome to the Video games WikiProject on the English Wikipedia! We are a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to video games.
Issues concerning video game related articles and topics are discussed on the main talk page.
Assessment
The Assessment department evaluates the quality of articles related to video games. The resulting article ratings are used within the project to recognize excellent contributions and to identify topics in need of further work. This system is used to promote articles to A-Class.
Essential Articles
The Essential articles page lists the most important topics related to this WikiProject. The list could be used to select candidates for Wikipedia 1.0, or perhaps even to create a Wikipedia Book for video games. It also allows us to identify areas needing improvement. Feel free to add to the table by rating the quality and importance of articles. If you disagree with a grade, or believe that an important topic is missing, be bold and change it.
Peer Review
Users may nominate articles at the peer review page if they wish to receive feedback on their work. Please do not nominate stubs or underdeveloped articles.
Reference library
The Reference library helps editors find sources for game previews, development history, critical reviews, or other information in published materials. The project especially aims to identify sources for games released before the popularization of the Internet. If you have relevant magazines, books or links, please contribute them to the archive.
Video game images
The Video game images department is a group dedicated to ensuring that all video game related articles contain images, whether they are boxart, screenshots, or both, as well as the required fair use rationale.
Task forces
Task forces provide centralized information and discussion for topics that have a sufficiently large scope, but would not benefit from having a separate WikiProject with all of the associated bureaucracy. Current task forces can be seen by expanding the relevant section in the box to the right.
Anyone can participate in this WikiProject. Please indicate your participation by adding your username to the members list. You may also add the userbox {{User WPVG}} to your user page, shown on the right; this will add you to Category:WikiProject Video games members. Alternatively, if you do not wish to use the userbox, you may add [[Category:WikiProject Video games members|{{PAGENAME}}]] to the end of your user page.
Award
You can award the VG Star to users you feel have gone the extra mile to improve video game related articles. Here is an award template: {{subst:Barnstar VG|text on award. ~~~~}}
A userbox to display this barnstar can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Award userbox. A ribbon alternative is available here.
You can welcome new users who have made good contributions to video game related articles by adding the {{vgproj welcome}} template to their talk page.

The templates page lists all templates useful in writing articles about video games, including infobox, cleanup, stub, talk page, and external links templates.
The Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Deletion subpage lists video game related articles that have been nominated for deletion, and invites users to join the discussion process.
