Research units

There are several types of research and development divisions at TUSUR working in its priority lines of research.

  1. Research institutes

    Research Institutes carry out research and development to create new defense and multifunctional equipment.

  2. Departments

    University Departments are communities of scientists who carry out research at laboratories within priority research areas and take part in teaching.

  3. Research and study centers

    Research and study centers are designed to unite and coordinate efforts of different university units in research and training of highly qualified personnel. They engage the best research teams of TUSUR to accomplish this.

  4. Shared use centers

    Shared use centers are equipped with state-of-the-art world-class research and production equipment to conduct measurements and experiments.

  5. Laboratories and R&D divisions

    Laboratories and R&D divisions carry out applied research and development, and train qualified specialists in main research areas.

  6. Laboratories for team projects

    Undergraduates, post-graduates, teachers and researchers form teams to develop new projects at team project laboratories. These laboratories are meant for students who are interested in creation of new products and start-ups within the main R&D areas.

  7. Student design offices

    Here undergraduate and postgraduate students carry out research and design work under the supervision of researchers and senior faculty of the university.

Nanotechnologies

Research topics: SHF nanoelectronics; optoelectronics and nanophotonics; plasma emission electronics (nanomaterials and nanocoatings).

Research Institute of Electric Communication Systems (NII SES)

NII SES researchers study, develop and produce SHF range units and modules for radar communication systems, instrument engineering and specialized equipment. They also develop and manufacture radio relay devices, SHF equipment for satellite television systems, GaAs-based monolithic integrated functional elements of cm and mm wave range.

    The Center carries R&D in the most promising fields of nanophotonics and quantum effect devices.

  • Research and Study Center «Condensed State Physics. Physics, Radiation and Space Materials Science»

    The Center develops techniques and technologies to create radiation-hardened coatings and coatings with novel properties for space vehicles.

Radio Engineering and Telecommunications Systems

Research topics: radar systems; wave propagation in the radio and acoustic frequency range; communication and radiometry systems; pulse and radiofrequency measurements.

  • Research Institute of Radio Engineering Systems (NII RTS)

    The Institute carries out theoretical and experimental research to develop active and passive radar systems with increased coverage and operating speed.

  • Research Institute of Electronic Processing Equipment and Communication Means (NII ETOSS)

    The Institute develops automated measurement and recording electronic complexes, antennas, units of antenna and feeder transmission lines, low-noise amplifiers, electronic control and video surveillance systems using radio channels.

Intelligent power electronics

Research topics: control and ground testing systems for space equipment; systems for high frequency conversion of electric energy parameters; energy-saving systems for electric energy transfer, distribution and consumption.

Research Institutes

  • Research Institute of Automatics and Electromechanics (NII AEM) The Institute develops systems to control production process and complex production facilities; it also develops devices for energy electronics, induction heating devices, controlled AC and DC drives.
  • Research Institute of Industrial Electronics (NII PRE) The Institute develops pulse and modulation systems, intelligent systems, and power electronics devices.
  • Student Research Institute of Electronic Systems The first Student Research Institute in Russia, it was founded by decision of the TUSUR Academic Council of May 27, 2009 and is undergoing its formative stage at present. The aim of the Institute is to develop software and hardware for production process automation, to carry out joint R&D and design work in the field of industrial automation, to engage highly qualified specialists from other Russian universities as well as foreign countries in joint research projects.

Research and Study Center of the Institute of Innovations

The Center trains innovation-oriented professionals and specialists in the most demanded for and exclusive educational programs. It studies theoretical and methodological aspects of innovation management and aims to create a sustainable and independent triple helix model «University-Business-Government» at the regional level. The Center is currently working on the project «Development and implementation of video data coding algorithms using single crystal multi-processor systems» in partnership with Elecard company.
