Synopsis

In a factory on planet Guard, Goryu is forcing human slaves to toil endlessly. Deathsaurus approaches a sorrowful Solon and tells him that he understands why he is so so depressed: being a cyborg, he will forever be smaller than real Transformers. So Deathsaurus cheers him up by showing him his new mech unit: King Solon! Solon is ecstatic as he can finally become a true Decepticon.

At Autobot HQ, Patty is both sweetly and demandingly working all the other Victories to the bone, mopping and scrubbing the base. As Star Saber chuckles at their hard work, the Brainmasters alert him to recent intelligence showing the Decepticons preparing for an assault. With this news in hand, Star Saber, Victory Leo, Jan and Patty leave immediately for planet Guard.

Upon arriving, Patty tells Jan that Guard was once a beautiful world just like Earth, until the Decepticons invaded and turned it into a giant munitions factory. Suddenly, Star Saber and Victory Leo are caught off guard by an explosion. Deathsaurus then steps into the spotlight and introduces King Solon to the Autobots (leaving Jan especially shocked). Deathsaurus and King Solon then combine into Kingsaurus, leaving the bewildered Star Saber and Victory Leo to combine into Victory Saber.

As the slaves cheer Victory Saber on, the Autobot bludgeons the Decepticon in the face with a right hook. Kingsaurus quickly recovers and counters with his "King Spike" attack. Being so evenly matched, the two Transformers remain locked in combat for three hours, neither able to overtake the other.

On the ground, Patty encourages Victory Saber to win, telling him that Guard is a "mother world" just like Earth and must be restored. At the sound of Patty's voice saying "mother", Solon is momentarily distracted. Victory Saber leaps on this advantage and fires his "Victory Boomerang".

The attack destroys the King Solon mech attached to Deathsaurus, sending Solon's flaming body hurtling to the ground. Solon stands up, his synthetic skin melting off, showing his cybernetic parts. Patty and Jan rush to help him, but he pushes them away. Before departing, Deathsaurus tells Solon that even though he is still a human, he will always consider him his son, then dispatches Tigerbreast to pick him up. As Solon bandages himself up, Jan offers him a place on the Victories. Solon refuses, saying he wouldn't be able to stand having a cheerful sister like Patty around. Solon then hops on Tigerbreast and flies away.

Later, Star Saber explains that the power of Victory Saber comes from his familial bond with Victory Leo. The reason Kingsaurus was so powerful was because Deathsaurus and Solon also regarded one another as family and drew on that strength. If Solon hadn't lost his concentration for a second, Star Saber fears they'd still be battling.

Out in space, Solon giggles to himself, remarking that Patty reminds him of his late mother.

Notes

  • In previous issues, Jan seemed to be in charge of the Victories. However, it would now seem that Patty has taken command, given how she's barking orders at everyone.
  • On a related note, the janitorial duties seen in this issue are the most the Victories have accomplished since their formation.
