Talk:Ratchet (G1)/toys

Apologies for starting a talk page just for this, but when was Prime Ratchet's toy repurposed as G1 Ratchet? It's an issue with the current system of "Ratchet was repurposed as this Ratchet", which is quite ambiguous. I'd like to say this happened in an IDW comic, but I'm not quite so sure. Yes, if we're going to insist upon using those notes instead of just explaining it in the body text, we really need to start adding WHERE this stuff happened to them. In this case, it was the X-Files: Conspiracy TF one-shot. - Chris McFeely (talk) 10:13, 3 April 2014 (EDT)
I like the clear, up front notification that a toy is a repurposing but agree that specifying where the repurposing occurred is desirable. --Khajidha (talk) 10:41, 3 April 2014 (EDT)

Unpaintable plastic on Universe Ratchet

I noticed that Universe (2008) Ratchet has a section of his vehicle mode roof that's red rather than white like the rest of it. (It's the part that's behind his head in robot mode.) I'm pretty sure it's unpaintable plastic, as it's certainly not an intentional deco choice, and doesn't appear to be painted, but I don't want to add that information to the article without being one hundred percent certain. Does anyone if it's unpaintable plastic, or how to see if this is the case? -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 19:31, 1 December 2015 (EST)

I'm just going to add a note about unpaintable plastic in the relevant section, since I'm 99% sure that's what it is anyway. If anyone has a problem, they can always revert my edit. -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 01:24, 6 December 2015 (EST)

Why is this something to be noted? Unpaintable plastic isn't an uncommon feature on toys. Saix (talk) 01:28, 6 December 2015 (EST)
Several other toy writeups make note of unpaintable plastic where it occurs. I also feel that this instance of it is particularly notable because it affects the toy's deco in such an...odd fashion. (I actually went to this page in the hopes that I could find something about the bizarre patch of red plastic on Ratchet's otherwise white roof, and was surprised that the article made no mention of it) -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 03:50, 6 December 2015 (EST)
