The Maximals hunt for the Origin Matrix and their lost energy purifier.

Contents

Synopsis

Inside the mysterious bunker the Predacons have found, Scylla grows impatient. Snaptrap hushes her, telling the new Seacon that whatever Megatron has planned, it's gonna be big. All the while, Megatron operates the alien machinery, designing blueprints...

At the Graviton, Depth Charge explains that by hooking up the monitors and sensors to his probes, they'll be able to find the Origin Matrix much easier. When he re-entered Earth's atmosphere, he was within 40 miles of the Matrix's energy signature, and with the ship's sensors, they'll be able to pinpoint that signature. Prowl, however, brings up another problem; their limited energon reserves are beginning to be contaminated by the impure energon outside, and by tomorrow, they'll have no usable fuel. Silverbolt notes that the ship's energy purifier was lost during re-entry. Ultra Mammoth decides that the probes can also look for the purifer's electronic tags, but has Prowl plan an alternative fuel source in case they cannot recover the purifier. The Maximal's all take watch, and after several hours, Ironhide is woken up when the probes find the purifier.

Unfortunately, the Seacons have already found the purifier, which Megatron plans to use for his big push. Upon the Maximal's arrival, the Seacons combine into their new gestalt form, God Neptune! The Predacon's aren't the only ones with a trick up their sleeves, however; Prowl initiates his "contingency plan," and combines with Ironhide and Silverbolt into Magnaboss! As the two combiners engange, Mammoth and Grimlock go to recover the purifier, only to be blasted back by Autojetter and Autolauncher. The two recover the purifier, and God Neptune unleashes his Typhoon Attack, knocking all the Maximals back.

Not all has gone wrong, however; back at the Graviton, Depth Charge's probes have found the Origin Matrix...

Notes

Transformers references

  • The alien bunker is covered with the Vok symbols seen on their Golden Disk in the Beast Wars cartoon.
  • The design Megatron is creating is that of Beast Wars II Gigastorm, recognizable by his horn.
  • Depth Charge terms their search a "Matrix Quest" after the storyline from the Marvel The Transformers comics.
  • God Neptune is the combined form of the Beast Wars II Seacons. Magnaboss, meanwhile, appears to be repurposed from his Beast Wars II counterpart (see his red and silver face, as opposed to American's Magnaboss' face being yellow).

Errors

  • Snaptrap's name is spelled "Snap Trap".
