Upon his defeat at the hands of Megatron, the spirits of the fallen Autobot commanders residing within the Matrix activated the Reconfiguration Matrix and resurrected Optimus Prime as Battle Convoy. Part of his upgraded form was the Cybertonium Sword, which was powerful enough to chop Megatron's cannon in half. Birth of the New Supreme Commander Battle Convoy!

- A "saber weapon" was included with Generation 2 Laser Optimus Prime.
- This mold was also used for the Black Sword of Car Robots Black Convoy (as in turn, the Sword of Fury of Robots in Disguise Scourge) as well as the unnamed sword of e-HOBBY G-2 Laser Ultra Magnus. It may have been included with Universe Toxitron, but that release was canceled.
- Battle Convoy (Reissue, 2006)
- ID number: TRF-13
- The original sword was reissued by TakaraTomy in 2006. It uses the rounded version of the sword included in the Robots in Disguise Scourge mold.
Transformers (2010)
- Optimus Prime (Deluxe Class, 2011)
- An unnamed new sword mold was included with Reveal the Shield Optimus Prime.
- This mold was used for Timelines/Robots in Disguise Sword of Fury, the first Legends Black Sword, and the Timelines/Shattered Glass Terminus Blade.

- The Reveal the Shield iteration had a color change in Japan for United iteration of Laser Optimus Prime.
Titans Return
- Chaos on Velocitron (Multi-pack, 2017)
- The third mold of the sword was included with Titans Return Refractor & Laser Prime, part of the "Chaos on Velocitron" multi-pack. This unnamed sword was redecoed from the loosely Return of Convoy-themed Diac & Optimus Prime.
- This mold was used for the second Legends Black Sword, Street Fighter II × Transformers Ryu's sword and Double Pretender Megatron's sword.
Legacy
- Legacy Leader Class "Laser Optimus Prime" comes with his signature Laser Rod blade, which can be combined with the included Energon Axe to form a bigger sword. The axe and sword can be stored either inside the trailer or on the cab, with the sword stored underneath the rear section of the cab like the original and the axe slotting in over the trailer hitch.
- As the sword accessory is designed for this mold's open hands, it cannot be wielded by other figures with 5mm hands due to the protruding peg, which is meant to be mounted onto the trailer or the cab for storage. If you're feeling risky, the tab can be trimmed off, which also permanently loses its storage ability.
- The sword was redecoed into Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection Robots In Disguise 2000 Universe Scourge's Sword of Fury and Toxitron Collection "G2 Universe Toxitron"'s sword, and one of the components for Ultra Magnus's Terminus Blade.
Notes
- Generation 2 Laser Optimus Prime's sword has never been named by Hasbro toy packaging, merely being referred to as a "saber weapon" in the Hasbro Generation 2 packaging. By contrast, Japanese G-2 fiction described it as a specialized cybertonium blade. Almost two decades later, it received the name "Laser Rod" for the United toy release, deriving from the European Generation 2 figure name, "Laser Rod Optimus Prime". This was used again in 2017 for Earth Wars, presumably because Simon Furman was involved in writing both.
