Candygram!

Overbites (オーバーバイト Ōbābaito) are devoid of sentience, like all the Seacons commanded by Turtler, serving only as mindless mass-produced drone warriors designed to overwhelm their opponents by numbers. Overbites can use their lasers with a surgical precision unmatched amongst the Seacon legions, deftly tearing open the bellies of ships, but their sharp super-hardened noses and teeth mean their high-speed spinning "Killer Screw" body-blow attack can rip through them just as easily.

The Overbites can combine with their fellow Seacons to form King Poseidon.

With the debut of the Seacon commander Turtler on the battlefield, at least one Overbite would usually be present in order to combine with its leader, forming a hand-held weapon for the giant King Poseidon. The Seacon combiner battled Autobot Godmasters on an island off the coast of America Heroism!! When Turtler opted to flee the battlefield by burrowing underground, one Overbite displayed some unusual self-preservation instincts, diving into the tunnel after its leader rather than waiting to be destroyed. Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers

Overbiteg1toy.jpg
  • Overbite (Seacon, 1988)
  • ID number: D-313
  • Accessories: Left & right shark-arms, "Cannon Gun", "Tripod Rifle", connector, weapon stand base
Released in the fourth year of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers line under the Super-God Masterforce banner, Overbite is identical to the Hasbro-release Overbite, transforming into a robotic shark-monster. His front claw-arms (yes, arms) are both removable if you want a more streamlined beast mode. His purple "Cannon Gun" can be mounted under his jaw in beast mode.
The gun also plugs under the jaw via a post in is back end to form the barrel of Overbite's third mode; an artillery emplacement that mounts on top of a stand formed from three individual components. The central piece of this stand, the "Tripod Rifle", can also be wielded as a weapon by robot-mode Overbite.
Overbite can also transform into either an arm or leg compatible with any "Scramble City"-style combiner, though his nominal placement is... not as a limb, but in his artillery mode as a weapon for King Poseidon to wield, thanks to Poseidon's unique fists. (The other four small Seacons can also take his place as a hand-cannon in their artillery modes.)

Overbite was sold both as an individual, and in a large King Posiedon box set. All of the toys in the set are identical to their individual releases.
Unlike the Hasbro Seacon box-set, which excludes Nautilator, the King Poseidon set comes with all six members of the team: Turtler, Gulf, Kraken, Lobclaw, Overbite, and Tentakil.

Generations Selects

Generations-Selects-Overbite.jpg
  • Seacons Overbite (Deluxe, 2020)
  • Release date: March 28, 2020
  • Hasbro ID number: TT-GS07
  • Accessories: Laser gun, sword, combiner hand/gun mode handle, hand gap filler/gun
A TakaraTomy-initiated addition to the Generations Selects series, "Seacons Overbite" is an extensive retooling of Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Terrorcon Rippersnapper, transforming into a robotic shark monster, but a different robotic shark monster than Rippersnapper does. A less upright one.
Just as with his original toy, he is able to form any limb for any Combiner Wars-style super robot. He also retains his artillery mode, which can again be used as a hand-held cannon by compatible combiners, particularly King Poseidon. Like the other Generations Selects Seacons, Overbite has newly-tooled combiner hands with individually-posable fingers, which also form the base of the Targetmaster-style gun mode, with the handle being a Combiner Wars styled port that plugs in to the hand provided in this set. The hand can be plugged into the back of the tail in beast mode, or as the back of the feet in the combined mode, whilst Turtler's feet components are at the front. He also has a new sword, which combines with the other Seacons' melee weapons to form King Poseidon's oversized trident-sword.
Overbite was released as a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive in Japan, as part of the third of three mini-waves of Seacons alongside Tentakil. The Seacons were also available via Hasbro Pulse and other online retailers in the U.S. and Canada.
This mold was later redecoed as Sea Phantom.

  • King Poseidon Set A (1988)
    • Accessories: Blaster
Released as part of the series 10 lineup of Kabaya candy kits, Overbite was available in as set along with Seacon leader Turtler. Despite being a snap-together model kit, he is functionally a downsized version of the larger toy, retaining the combining functions. Since he is gang molded with the other Seacons, some of his plastic colors are a bit off. Common among Kabaya kits, he relies on stickers for added detail.
Overbite can become an arm, leg, or cannon for King Poseidon.
  • Overbite (2015)
    • Accessories: Blaster, Turtler's gun and sword
Part of the tenth wave of Kabaya's standard snap together kits, Overbite can transform from shark monster to robot, though you need to partsform his beast legs to do so. He can combine with the concurrently released Seacons to create King Poseidon. He includes Turtler's weapons, which are also used for King Poseidon.
Overbite and the other Seacons are compatible with the Gaia Scramble combiner limbs released a few years prior.

Even Jabberjaw mocks these guys
  • None of the Masterforce Seacon drones were ever depicted in robot mode in the cartoon or manga. The toy's package art is the only known "fictional" depiction of an Overbite in robot mode.
  • Unlike all his fellow Seacons, Overbite did not appear in Zone fiction. Although the team was permanently combined as King Poseidon, the combiner did not wield Overbite in gun mode.
