The Transformers cartoon

Voice actor: Tony Pope (English), Ken Shiroyama (Japanese), Yuan Guoqing (Chinese), Michael Rüth (German)

Inquirata was in charge of a project to use a Time Window to alter the outcome of the slave rebellion that took place on Cybertron eleven million years ago by abducting one of its leaders, A-3. The operation was interrupted by the arrival of some Autobots. The Quintesson warships stationed nearby fired on the new arrivals, provoking a protest from Inquirata, as the weapons fire was perilously close to the equipment. The Autobots ended up flying through the Time Window, and the arrival of still more Autobots resulted in the other Quintessons dragging a protesting Inquirata away.

Back on the Quintesson ship, Inquirata explained (in an increasingly panicked tone) to his commander that ripples of chronal energy were spreading out from the damaged Time Window and the increasing number of causality violations could TEAR! APART! REALITY!! if the Time Window wasn't closed within the hour. The Quintessons mounted an assault to try to retake the asteroid, as Inquirata observed that the very nature of reality was starting to break down, but the assault was a failure.

In desperation, Inquirata used a holographic projection to contact Rodimus Prime and ask for his help. He managed to persuade the Autobots of the deadly peril they faced, and he pleaded for them to close the Time Window. However, the Autobots wanted to get their companions back from the past first. To Inquirata's distress, A-3 volunteered to return to the past, and the Quintesson scientist cut off his transmission with a cry. Forever Is a Long Time Coming

Note

  • The name Inquirata is used in the script for the episode in which he appears, "Forever Is a Long Time Coming", but is not mentioned during the episode itself. Before access was gained to the script, a Comic Bom Bom article was first to reveal the name, but led to the mistaken belief that Inquirata was the Quintesson from "The Killing Jar", who shares the body type.

Foreign names

  • Japanese: Inquirata (インキラータ Inkirāta)
  • Mandarin: Gǔguàilǎo (古怪老, "Weird Elder")
