Back on TV as the kid-appeal character at last. Next stop, Hollywood!

Whether on the Cube court or a rescue mission, Hot Shot is always looking for a chance to prove himself. Unfortunately, his desire to do so makes him prone to showing off around his more experienced peers. Maybe he'll eventually learn to stop diving head first into dangerous situations, but until then Heatwave and the Rescue Bots will be stuck keeping him out of trouble.

Perhaps in another lifetime, he might have been a member of the crack commando squad, the Wreckers! Luckily, he's already got a great team in the form of the other Rescue Bot trainees, and when the chips are down, Hot Shot knows they'll always have his back.

"It is not wise to mock my glowing energy mustache if you wish to continue living."

Hot Shot participated in a battle somewhere in the Rigel system alongside his fellow Wrecker Kup. Kup had just finished telling Hot Shot one of his trademark stories when he noticed that the Vehicons attacking them were sporting Enemy-class drone bodies. Luckily for Hot Shot, it just so happened that Kup had been present when the design had first been tested in battle! So, despite Hot Shot's protests, Kup decided to regale his junior with the thrilling story of his encounter with them.

After a good deal of time listening to Kup's story, Hot Shot realized that their Decepticon assailants have stopped firing upon them, which Kup revealed to have been part of his plan: wait until the Decepticons ran out of ammo, and then escape whilst they were restocking. Hot Shot began to express his gratitude at the end of Kup's story, only to learn that Kup hadn't finished.

When Kup finally did finish, Hot Shot quickly began pointing out major holes in his story, such as his recounting of events he hadn't even been present for. Hot Shot's attention to detail only earned him a "Shut up!" from his fellow Wrecker. Unreliable Narratives

RecruitsI Whirl welcomes Hot Shot.jpg

While playing Cube with his friends on Cybertron, Hot Shot was approached by Optimus Prime who invited him to train as a Rescue Bot. Despite his misgivings, Hot Shot went to Earth, only to screw up the first test rescue and lose a stacking game to Wedge. Recruits Part I He was ready to give up and return to Cybertron when Optimus presented him with the Mul-T-Cog Badge, bestowing upon him the ability to use an additional jet and hovercraft mode, though he could only pick one alternate mode per day. He successfully won a race against Wedge using his jet mode, but when the recruits attempted a cave rescue, Hot Shot realized his jet mode was useless there. The other recruits encouraged him not to give up, and he was instrumental in completing the rescue. Recruits Part II

TheSecretOfFlight Hot Shot jet mode.jpg

Blades was called in to tutor Hot Shot when the recruit had trouble with his new jet mode. Though Hot Shot was unsure of the value of the lessons Blades was teaching at first, they allowed him to successfully conduct a rescue. The Secret of Flight As the result of another rescue, Hoist made new attachments for the other recruits, including a sonic blaster for Hot Shot. If at First... During another rescue exercise, Hot Shot badly damaged Tough Luck Chuck and was forced to babysit the robot while new parts were found to repair him. His attempts to foist the duty off onto the other recruits resulted in Chuck escaping the training center, and they had to hunt Chuck down in Milford. Tough Luck Chuck Hot Shot was so bored by Chase's class on police codes that he started playing a hand-held game to pass the time. He and the other recruits persuaded Chase to let them try to do a practice rescue, and ended up being rescued themselves by Whirl when they got stuck in the snow. Whirl'd View When the recruits didn't understand why Boulder was having them plant flowers, the Rescue Bot set them a task which taught them that all parts of nature are important. Plan Bee

Hot Shot and the other recruits were bugged when Wedge borrowed the trigger for the rescue alarm and had them constantly running drills to get their response time down. The Bot Who Cried Rescue When the recruits found out that the residents of Griffin Rock were carving the faces of the Rescue Bots into a mountain, Hot Shot decided to add his own face to the monument, endangering the nearby dam. Mount Botmore Hot Shot and Wedge ended up disregarding Hoist when their fellow recruit was put in charge of a rescue mission, and as a result, their own efforts almost ended up in disaster. Mission Inaudible After completing a simulated rescue, despite a glitch occurring, the recruits took part in a real rescue in Griffin Rock which was only successful because the glitch gave Medix an idea to complete it safely. Glitch

After a ride on the Sigma, the recruits assumed the four command chairs meant one of their number wouldn't graduate. The team went on to botch a volcano rescue drill after staying up all night worrying, until Heatwave told them they'd assumed wrong. Five into Four When Whirl was filming footage for a recruitment video, Hot Shot showed off his target shooting skills and almost destroyed the camera. He and the others later helped whip the footage into a usable state. Rescue Promo Hot Shot botched a rescue mission and tried to blame it on the other recruits. Heatwave assigned him to watch the rescue monitors, but after he went off to do a rescue on his own and the other recruits had to go help, he admitted his failure. Blame Game Hot Shot and the other recruits set up a surprise rescue mission for Medix, who didn't get the appeal of surprises. Unfortunately, the mission did not go well, and the other recruits promised to stop with the surprises. Medix Surprise

BattleOfTheBots Hot Shot plays Cube.jpg

Hot Shot attempted to cover up the fact he'd never used a TX3000 before when five of them were loaned to the rescue center for the recruits to try out. As a result, he almost botched a rescue and had to admit his inexperience. The TX3000 The recruits had to round up a lost flock of sheep, but were hampered by Hoist malfunctioning. Little Bot Peep Hot Shot showed off his skills at the agility course to visiting Teen Pioneer Wes. Driving a Wedge Boulder accompanied the recruits to the planet Parvus where they rescued the last surviving Galax. The Big, Small Rescue

Hot Shot's assertion he'd do anything to get an entry in the Heroes of Cybertron cards resulted in Wedge challenging him to a competition. Hot Shot won the construction section, and though Wedge was demoralized by the loss, Hot Shot talked him into continuing with the Cube section, and Wedge managed to win. The two bots decided to keep it as a tie, and Hoist presented them with custom cards. Battle of the Bots When an alien rock went missing, suspicion fell on Hot Shot, but it turned out the rock was actually an alien which the recruits then had to round up. About a Rock The recruits tried to keep secret the fact a dog had followed them home after the last rescue, only to discover that the dog was actually trying to alert them to the fact they'd missed someone who needed rescuing. Dog Stray Afternoon

After Hot Shot lost his confidence, Cody loaned him a lucky Rubber Duck, which gave him the confidence to successfully take part in a rescue. Cody later revealed he'd pickpocketed the duck off Hot Shot before the mission, causing Hot Shot to realize the confidence was inside him all along. Lucky Ducky Hot Shot and the other recruits struggled when Whirl tried to get them to learn cheerleading, but the skills they picked up eventually helped them conduct a rescue in Griffin Rock. Go Team, Go! The five recruits swiftly became addicted to smartphones when Boulder assigned them the task of learning about the devices, resulting in them screwing up rescue exercises and their chores. Screen Time During a field trip to the museum in Milford, Hot Shot and the others helped Whirl catch a criminal in the act. Fright at the Museum

When the Sigma returned to base without the teachers, the recruits had to take the ship and go to their rescue, though not without Hot Shot and Wedge fighting over who was temporary captain. Space Case During a trash collection exercise, Hot Shot didn't collect much on account of having to chase a squirrel with a shoe. He had the same problem with an under-sea trash collection mission, only this time with a fish. He and the other recruits also had to rescue Medix from a shark. All at Sea Hot Shot and the other recruits had to deal with an out-of-control Scrub-A-Dubber after inserting too many power cells into it. All Washed Up

BalloonUpATree Hot Shot and Whirl up a tree.jpg

Hot Shot's attempt at demonstrating a rescue ended with him falling on his face when the students tried their hands at teaching. Who's Teaching Who? During a mission to retrieve a balloon from a tree, Hot Shot immediately dove in without a plan and ended up making the situation much much worse, including a brief ride on a rocket and ending with a crane perched on top of a building. Balloon Up A Tree A fantasy simulation saw the recruits trying to corral a dragon, until they worked out that the dragon was actually trying to help. The Mystery of Dragon Mountain Preferring to play Invasion of the Giant Hedgehogs rather than learn, Hot Shot hit on the idea of hacking Chase's car inspection sim to include giant goop-spitting hedgehogs. The other recruits were not impressed, and Hot Shot's attempt to deal with the hedgehogs himself was ineffective, but it did give the others time to come up with a plan to shut the sim down. Hack Attack

Hot Shot and the other recruits found their rescues complicated by Medix's attempts to loosen up after they suggested he was a stick in the mud. Life of the Party The recruits were keen to be taught by new teacher Grimlock but discovered Hoist was afraid of Dinobots. Tyrannosaurus Wrecked A trip to Dino Island hit a snag when a dinosaur escaped back through the GroundBridge, disabling it in the process so Grimlock and the recruits had to make their own way back to the academy. Dino Hard When Chase assigned the recruits a stealth mission, Hot Shot was dismayed to be paired with Grimlock. He ended up ditching his partner, only for it to later turned out that Grimlock was the only one to successfully complete the mission. Buddy Cop Another mission saw the recruits having to rescue penguins from an island the hard way after an electrical storm knocked out their tools and even their ability to transform. Escape from Penguin Island

During a series of search and rescue missions, Hot Shot and the others were surprised to learn Hoist had cheated on one of the tests. All that Glitters A hunt for a downed satellite resulted in the recruits hiding out backstage at Dig Fest while trying to signal Wedge. Dig Fest The recruits took part in Halloween festivities, however when Hot Shot mistook a person in a wolfman costume for an actual monster, he accidentally started a house fire which the recruits then had to deal with. Trick or Treat Medix's confusion over a television commercial meant that the recruits had to mount a hasty coverup so he wouldn't blow their secret to all of Milford. Monster Savings Hot Shot and the others got a tune stuck in their heads, impairing their performance on a training exercise. They managed to forget the tune, but this caused problems on a mission to the planet Herboo, as it was the code needed for the Virtual Sonic Fence Hoist needed to use to stop the karknoid beetle. Tune Out

A trip to survey a geyser field saw the recruits having to deal with a swarm of Scraplets. Metal Munchers Hot Shot and the other recruits took part in essential maintenance as directed by Bumblebee, unlike Wedge who spent the whole time trying to impress his hero, and they were therefore fully functional for the following rescue drill. Bee Prepared When Whirl's failed attempts to do a maneuver led her to try to seek out the Wise One, the other recruits went after her and became trapped in a ravine, requiring her to rescue them using the maneuver she had been trying to perfect. Whirl's Wise-Bot Quest Hot Shot discovered the easiest way to deal with recycling was to just throw it in the trash, which led to a giant ball of junk threatening the satellite they were trying to fix. Flying Hunk-A-Junk

Hot Shot completely failed to follow Wedge and Medix's instructions while blindfolded, resulting in them failing the trust exercise. A subsequent mission deep undersea forced the recruits to rely on each other as they rescued an automated drone from deep sea wildlife. Into the Depths When Hot Shot got distracted playing with puppies, the dogs ended up running off thanks to Hoist's new comms system alarming them, and the recruits were forced to hunt for them. Milford Goes To The Dogs As he only needed another point to get to the top of the leader board, Hot Shot was determined to succeed at the next sim. Though the recruits struggled at first, Hot Shot eventually worked out how to save the simulated humans. The Ice Wave

On the eve of the recruits' graduation from year one, Optimus arrived with Hot Shot's old friend Scorch who wanted Hot Shot to play as part of Scorch's Cube team, the Cyberblazers. Though Hot Shot was determined to impress Scorch with the recruits' rescue work, Scorch eventually persuaded him, and after farewelling his friends, Hot Shot returned to Cybertron. Best Bots Forever Part 1 Despite a rocky start, Hot Shot sold his new teammates on the concept of teamwork prior to the start of the Cube final. They went on to win the championship, but Hot Shot was reminded of his friends on Earth and opted to return there instead of celebrating. He arrived in time to help burst an energon bubble that was threatening the entire planet, and apologized to the other recruits for abandoning them. He and the other recruits took part in their graduation ceremony. Best Bots Forever Part 1

InTraining Hot Shot hose.jpg

At the start of year two, the recruits returned to the Academy to find they'd been given personal spaces—Heatwave quickly worked out Hot Shot was just going to use his area to play Cube—and were to be put through a series of tests so Ratchet's Aptitude Analyzer could assign them an appropriate mentor. Though Hot Shot was hoping for Optimus, he ended up paired with Heatwave. Back to School He and the other recruits got some new training simulations courtesy of Ratchet. Mission Dinobot

Apprehensive at working with Heatwave, Hot Shot was taken about when his mentor had him carry out a series of chores. It wasn't until he applied what he'd learned while rescuing some foxes from a forest fire that he realized Heatwave had taught him something after all. In Training During a trip to Ratchet's lab on Cybertron, Hot Shot ended up getting blamed when Medix's bat Mister Flappy caused trouble. Hot Shot pursued the bat into the testing chamber and had to be rescued by Medix. Medix Steps Up To The Bat

ActingOut Hot Shot as mother.jpg

When the recruits thought Cody was unhappy because he wasn't a giant robot like them, they built him a robotic suit which caused chaos during their mission to rescue a rogue bull. Cody later clarified that he was just missing hanging out with the recruits. Robo-Cody Heatwave tasked the recruits with acting in the play Jack and the Beanstalk. Hot Shot tackled the role of Jack's mother with gusto, believing it made him Jack's boss. The play ended in near disaster when the stage almost collapsed. Acting Out Hot Shot and the others found Wedge's boredom was interfering with their study time. Wedge later surprised them by being enthusiastic about studying. Need to Know

On discovering that Grimlock had a classic Cube, Hot Shot "borrowed" it and had Hoist juice up its AI, only for the cube to become unstoppable and escape the Academy. Hot Shot eventually had to confess to Grimlock what he'd done so the teacher could help them recapture the Cube. Trouble Cubed When Heatwave let the recruits pick their favorite rescue to do, Hot Shot immediately picked one involving a broken down submarine and sharks. The disagreement over which simulation to run resulted in the recruits accidentally breaking the control unit and plunging the sim into chaos until they worked together to fix the unit. My Favorite Rescue

FunDroids Hot Shot shoes.jpg

After Ratchet got trapped in an ancient sim, the five recruits entered the sim as well. They successfully negotiated their way through a tower full of traps and rescued their teacher, completing the sim and opening the vault to find four Mul-T-Cogs and an ancient artifact. The Vault Of The Primes Hot Shot was too busy practicing a fire rescue with Heatwave to help Whirl on her ghost investigation. Wild Ghost Chase Following a soil-sampling mission on some dwarf planets, Hot Shot and the others found Medix had replanted the Galax in the academy garden, which it had promptly taken over, forcing them to relocate it to a more suitable home. Little Plot of Horrors

Hot Shot attended the opening of the Museum of Future Tech Art. Museum Mystery He joined the other recruits and mentors in rescuing Doc Greene and Frankie from a shrinking force field, though Heatwave mainly had him putting out fires. Partners Medix's overly-harsh criticism of the other recruits made them upset at him, however his overcompensation then led them to believe they had mastered a rescue technique when they had not. Critical Condition During a visit to Mechapark, Hot Shot got stuck on a malfunctioning ride and had to be rescued by Whirl. Fun Droids

PowerUp Hot Shot combicannon.jpg

When the Sparksayer bestowed Hot Shot with a new combicannon, he wasn't thrilled about the choice and attempted to trade it for Wedge's auger, only to find that the tools would only activate for their intended user. Power Up And Energize Cody had the five recruits learn some ballet to improve their poise and balance during rescues. Shall We Dance? Encouraged by Heatwave, Hot Shot tried to overcome his Mul-T-Cog's one-per-day limitation, believing it was his ticket to fame. It wasn't until the other recruits tricked him into thinking a sim rescue was real that he succeeded. Mul-T-Change of Pace During a camping trip on Natura Island, Hot Shot and the others were transported to a junkyard by the island's security system, necessitating a rescue by Whirl and Chase. Hot Shot insisted on reactivating the Scrapmaster before they left. Five Little Rescue Bots

After accidentally messing up Hoist's museum, Hot Shot immediately wanted to cover it up, but Medix pointed out this course of action would surely end in disaster so Hot Shot cleaned up the mess instead. He later again caused a mess when he was attacked by a diagnostic tool unleashed by Medix, though fortunately Medix confessed and took the blame off Hot Shot. Good Advice During a camping trip, Hot Shot was so terrified by Cody's ghost story that he ran into a tree, dislodging his comm transmitter. They returned to the academy, but Hot Shot's transmitter continued to make him hear the sounds of the forest, making him think they'd been followed back by the Zombie Ghost Bear until they worked out what had happened. They returned to find the transmitter and rescued a bear cub in the process. Campfire Fright

BigWheels Hot Shot fire engine.jpg

When it turned out Hot Shot's Mul-T-Cog could activate the four additional Mul-T-Cogs from the vault, he had the great idea to get the other recruits to test them, only to discover that the cogs weren't powered up enough and the other recruits could no longer transform. Though it cost him his own ability to transform, Hot Shot used his cog to fully activate the other four. It later turned out that they in turn could reactivate his Mul-T-Cog with theirs, and he even gained the ability to scan a fourth alternate mode. Small Cogs He decided to scan a rocket to give himself more speed, however after he accidentally caused a fire, he realized Heatwave's firetruck mode would be infinitely more useful, and scanned that instead. Big Wheels

The recruits' first solo off-world mission took them to a deserted city, where they rescued Scorch and his Cube team from an arena and discovered the whole place was a long-lost Titan, Citadel Secundus. The Empty City After taking part in Mentor Training Day with Heatwave, Hot Shot teamed up with his mentor again for a "rescue-athon". First Responder

Boulder assigned the recruits the task of training Scraplets, resulting in Hot Shot producing an anti-Scraplet device - a wooden box he hid in. The recruits eventually gave up after failing in their task. During a subsequent mission to prevent a power plant from exploding down, it turned out Medix had managed to train the Scraplets after all, saving the day. How To Train Your Scraplet Hot Shot took part in a window washing rescue sim, and helped extinguish fires in Crook's Canyon. Helicopter Heroes He and the other recruits were dispatched to Australia to help Brushfire with some kangaroos, and ended up fighting fires. Brushfire Hot Shot raced Whirl, resulting in her realizing she wasn't confident enough in her new police car mode. The Ties That Bind

After tripping over a ball during a training exercise, Hot Shot was unaware that Whirl had filmed him and uploaded the video to the Rescue Network. He later found out during a mission to Dino Island, but was happy his video had gone viral. Unfortunately it turned out the Rescue Network wasn't fully online and the video hadn't gone viral after all. Bot Blog When the recruits recovered the Decepticon Laserbeak from a stricken ship, Hot Shot was adamant that all Decepticons were evil and they shouldn't be helping the 'Con. It was only after Wedge revealed that he had originally been created as a Decepticon that Hot Shot realized he was wrong and helped track down the injured Laserbeak. More Than Meets The Eye Hot Shot took part in a volcano rescue sim. Things That Go Bot In The Night

MedixGetsSchooled Hot Shot leads rescue.jpg

During some lessons by Perceptor, Hot Shot was able to use his Cube skills to show how he'd stop a falling satellite. He and the other recruits later had to rescue Medix when their fellow recruit ran into trouble trying to impress the teacher. Medix Gets Schooled He and the other recruits experienced jealousy when a group of teens began carrying out rescues in Milford and getting press. Rescue Teens

Perceptor sent the recruits to Sifrolicous-5 to discover why the planet changed color, and they found mudlubbers, who turned out to be exactly suited to the environment. Enter The Flood Hot Shot took part in a cow rescue, during which Whirl was injured and had to spend time recovering in a stasis pod. Wizard Of Botz When Hot Shot was assigned the task of maintenance on Hero Hall, the other recruits were skeptical of his abilities and Hoist attempted to do the work for him. As a result, Hoist screwed up and allowed creatures to escape the simulation. Though the pair did their best to recover the creatures without anyone knowing, a dragon menacing Milford was a bit much and forced them to come clean to Heatwave. Fortunately Hoist was able to reprogram the dragon into a blimp so they could safely return it to the academy. One Of Our Dragons Is Missing

XMarksTheBot Hot Shot vs Tox-En.jpg

Hot Shot and the other recruits were taken on a field trip to a tropical island to study volcanoes, though Hot Shot was disappointed it wasn't a vacation. Dino-mite Duo They joined Heatwave in responding to a vague message from Citadel Secundus, only to find the Titan was just in need of some company. The Lonely Titan When the recruits were teamed up with geologist Finn O'Reilly, Hot Shot was skeptical that the human would be useful as they followed clues they believed would lead them to treasure. Finn proved himself more than useful and saved Hot Shot from the chest of Tox-En which they found, so Hot Shot was pals with him from then on. X Marks The Bot

Hot Shot attempted to tutor Wedge when he realized his teammate was having trouble getting used to using his speed, but his tutoring style was terrible until Bumblebee gave him some pointers. Making Tracks Grimlock's lesson that the recruits needed to be louder gave Hot Shot the idea to create sirens for them all. This worked insofar as Grimlock was happy, but during a mission to the planet Krimol, they found loud noises aggravated the local wildlife. Don't Be Alarmed Heatwave had Hot Shot and the other recruits retrieve toxic barrels from the seabed and rescue Jerry in order to teach them to exercise more restraint in using their power up tools. Powerless

CrashOfTheTitan Hot Shot pilots Secundus.jpg

After discovering that Medix was into DJ Mechmaster's electronic music, the recruits joined him in rescuing the DJ during a charity concert in Griffin Rock, and even took part in the show masquerading as stage props. Griffin Rock Rocks! Learning that Dig Fest had added a "Bot Battle" event, Hot Shot became determined to enter. His hand was forced when his careless words resulted in Chuck entering the event, so he also entered the event in order to protect Chuck. As it turned out, Chuck didn't need protecting and indeed won the event, leading Hot Shot to see him in a whole new light. Bot Battle

Following the successful completion of the last test of year two, the recruits were rewarded with a party aboard Citadel Secundus. Hot Shot opted not to go, instead wanting to create a nanobot sculpture to thank Heatwave and the other teachers for not giving up on him. Despite Whirl's help, the sculpture didn't quite turn out like he planned, however the pair found they had a new emergency as Secundus had been hit by an asteroid, knocking out him and everyone on board except Wedge, and was on a crash course for Earth. Space Party Being short a few teammates, Hot Shot and Whirl rounded up some of the friends they'd made and with their help, were able to remotely take control of Secundus, landing the Titan safely near the Academy. Following the graduation ceremony, Hot Shot presented the sculpture, reconfigured into a Rescue Bot insignia. Crash Of The Titan

Precursor World

A Warrior of the Seven Lights resembling Hot Shot was a member of the Blue Order of the Primus Vanguard. He and his comrades followed their commander Blue Big Convoy into battle when a duel between dimension-tossed future warriors Ultra Megatron and Star Convoy threatened the Blue Planet and its people. Super Megatron comic 2 The battle went sideways when the traitorous Straxus twins unleashed a rage virus to destroy the corps from within, and the Warrior was attacked by a winged comrade in the ensuing free-for-all. • Hot Shot (Deluxe Class, 2012)
  • Series / number: 1 / 009
  • Accessories: 2 arm-mounted blasters
Part of the third wave of Prime: Robots in Disguise Deluxe Class toys, Hot Shot is a redeco and new-head retool of the Prime: Robots in Disguise Bumblebee mold. He transforms into an Urbana 500 sports car with a blue color scheme homaging Cybertron Hot Shot and flames homaging 2001 Robots in Disguise Hot Shot. He comes with two snap-on blasters which can mount on his engine block, arms, and hands, and can combine to form a larger quad-barreled cannon. The front section features an automorph gimmick, with the shoulders geared together with the head and the top of the hood folding up into Hot Shot's chest when pushed into place. His new head, modeled after Armada Hot Shot and Animated Hot Shot, features a flip-down visor/goggles.
Care should be taken with his roof, doors, and visor, as they're made entirely of translucent blue plastic.

  • Off-Road Rescue Hot Shot (2018)
Hot Shot is functionally a significantly scaled up version of Bumblebee's rock-crawler toy from the "Rock Rescue Team". Transforming into an ATV and with elements based on his Rescue Bots Academy design, Off-Road Rescue Hot Shot is a 10-inch tall toy that transforms from a robot to a red 4WD rescue truck with an “Easy 2 Do” conversion. Hot Shot features a button on his chest that activates lights and sounds, including a light up chest and eyes and a flashing lightbar. When opening the roof of the vehicle to form his arms, the classic transformation sound plays. He also features lines recorded by his in-show voice actor Pierce Cravens.

  • Hot Shot (2018)
This version of Hot Shot is an extensive retool of the Rescan VTOL jet version of Bumblebee, with everything but his forearms being significantly modified. Hot Shot now transforms into a jet or plane, with his signature chest harness now forming the front of the plane. A blue windowed cockpit sits near the rear wings. As with the original version of this figure, Hot Shot has arm articulation that has nothing to do with this transformation scheme.
The original version was also differently retooled into the Rescan series VTOL version of Blades which, oddly enough, was later redecoed and given a new head for his teammate Whirl in the "Academy Rescue Team" box-set, and further retooled into the jet version of Heatwave.

  • Hot Shot (2019)
Previewed at Toy Fair 2019,[1] this Hot Shot shares engineering with the fireboat version of Heatwave, transforming into a hovercraft.

Transforming is overrated
  • Hot Shot (Mighty Mighties, 2019)
Similar in size to the Rescue Bots Epic figures, Hot Shot's Mighty Mighties figure is non-transformable and features basic articulation.

  • Track Tower Bumblebee
This Flip Racers version of Hot Shot's jet mode is exclusive with the larger Bumblebee-styled playset.

Whither Medix???
  • Academy Rescue Team (2019)
Like Offroad Rescue Hot Shot (above), "Academy Rescue Team" Hot Shot is based on Bumblebee's ATV mode from the "Rock Rescue Team", but now back in the original Rescan size. First previewed at Toy Fair 2019,[1] he is retooled similarly to his larger counterpart, with a new head and new chest harness detail, but lacks the light and sound gimmicks and has a slightly different deco layout. He comes in a set of four, similar to the previous "Griffin Rock Rescue Team", with Whirl (retool of VTOL jet version of Blades), Wedge (retool of cement mixer Salvage) and Hoist (retool of Rescan Hoist).

RBA-Rescan-HotShot-2020W5.jpg
  • Hot Shot (2020)
Part of Rescue Bots Academy Rescan Wave 5, this Hot Shot transforms into a car described as an "F1 racecar". His engineering and transformation pattern are familiar from frequently previous use throughout both Rescue Bots and Rescue Bots Academy, originating with Blurr and subsequently used by MorBot, the racecar versions of Heatwave and Whirl, and the dragster version of Chase.
This figure was retooled to make Bumblebee.

RBA-HotShot-Firetruck.jpg
  • Rescue Power Hot Shot (2020)
    • Accessories: Ladder/ water cannon/ light & sounds pack
A large 14-inch tall version of Hot Shot, this version converts into a large fire truck in a few simple steps. Included with the toys is a large ladder/ water cannon assembly that also features lights and sounds. The ladder assembly can be mounted on the bed of the truck mode, or on the robot mode's back.

  • Hot Shot (20??)
Hot Shot was the fifth and final recruit to receive an 11-inch tall show-accurate figure with an "Easy 2 Do Conversion". Pressing a switch on his left arm causes a water cannon to flip down, with a jet of water springing out. Otherwise he is functionally similar to previous toys.

Notes

  • Hot Shot's Prime toy is a smorgasbord of homages, featuring elements from every other incarnation of Hot Shot. By contrast, his Rescue Bots Academy design is near-exclusively based on Armada Hot Shot, but with a red ATV mode instead of a yellow car (presumably to distinguish him further from Bumblebee). Early concept art also showed his vehicle mode was more akin to a 4x4 offroad jeep compared to the buggy-like alt mode of the final design.
  • As the Prime Hot Shot toy is an existing mold altered to make a new character, so is his card art; it's a stock promotional render of Bumblebee with new colors and a slightly altered head.
  • If the recruits were to have an official age order, Pete Slattery would write Hot Shot to be right in the middle [2]
