Synopsis
At Darkmount, Straxus's fortress, his experiment C-6 is undergoing a training exercise to become a better assassin, facing off against Air Hunter. When he gets the better of the Decepticon, his creator commends him on his work, christening him as Convobat. Nevertheless, Straxus punishes Convobat for hesitating to kill—he may be a clone of a Convoy, but he is still the property of Straxus, and free will is not appreciated in his property. When Convobat stumbles off to recover, he runs into the bound D-6, who proposes an escape...
During the escape, D-6 is cornered by Wrecker Hook, Hailstorm, and Terradive. D-6 scorns his designation, dubbing himself Megalligator and, using his abilities, calls forth Ape X Arms to blast Hailstorm and Terradive. Just as Wrecker Hook realizes he's around, Convobat swoops in to incapacitate the Decepticon. In a weapons storage locker, Megalligator finds a spare transtector. The duo are soon attacked by Straxus himself, who disowns Megalligator. But his creation shows the power given to him by his "father" and explodes his transtector in Straxus's face. Knowing their creator wouldn't be down for the count, Megalligator has Convobat rush out with him. When Convobat questions what Megalligator wants to do with his life, the Autobot reveals he wants to meet his true father—Blue Big Convoy—and perhaps change his life around. Megalligator is disappointed by this revelation, and a shot hits Convobat! A stranger is revealed as the attacker and he takes his leave with Megalligator as Convobat passes out...

Notes
- This story was released online with no title given.
- Soundwave is modeled on the Titans Return Mindwipe body and the Nightbeat head.
Continuity notes
- This story and its sequence of stories that follow appear to take place in a brand-new continuity with influence from various eras of the Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity. Straxus, Wrecker Hook, and Air Hunter have all appeared in Japanese continuity stories set in the 21st century, and Convobat and Megalligator take their names from Japanese-exclusive Beast Wars toys of Generation 1 Optimus Prime and Megatron. Differences, however, include that Straxus appears to be native to the universe, rather than a dimension jumper from the Marvel G1 continuity, and Darkmount being a nonliving facility on Cybertron rather than an alternate name for the mobile Metrotitan.
- This comic marks the beginning of the "Primus Vanguard" storyline that would, against all odds, not only survive the shuttering of e-HOBBY's exclusive sub-line in 2018 but come to dominate TakaraTomy's pack-in fiction in the era of Generations Selects.
- Befitting the nature of the Legends World where all Transformers events exist as fiction, this comic was dramatized in the form of the film Transformers: Convobat Amazon Showdown in Convobat's Legends pack-in comic.
- The triangular detailing on Straxus's chest is duplicated as part of the architecture all around Darkmount. This symbol was ultimately confirmed as the faction insignia of Straxus's forces in e-HOBBY's line of bio cards.[1]
Transformers references
- Wrecker Hook was under the command of Straxus in "Metrowars", and he was comrades with Air Hunter in Robotmasters.
- Terradive and Hailstorm are two G1-continuity imports originally from the movie continuity via the 2010 Transformers toyline.
- Megalligator's restraints are based on Megatron's control suit as seen in Beast Machines, as well as the head of Animated Megatron's canceled "Marauder" toy.
- Among the items in Darkmount's weapons locker are Hellwarp, Dion, and an Overcharge (all e-HOBBY toy releases), as well as two swords from the unreleased Construct-Bots Arsenal Pack Wheeljack set. Megalligator grabs movieverse Sideswipe's MechTech blaster.
