Arthur Grey Hazlerigg, 1st Baron Hazlerigg was born on 17 November 1878.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Arthur Grey Hazlerigg and Janet Edith Orr Ewing.1 He married Dorothy Rachel Buxton, daughter of John Henry Buxton and Emma Maria Pelly, on 14 July 1903.2 He died on 25 May 1949 at age 70.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 13th Baronet Hesilrige, of Noseley Hall, co. Leicester [E., 1622] on 11 May 1890.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1901 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Leicestershire County Council in 1906.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Leicestershire in 1909.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1915 in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire.1 He was president of the Royal Agriculture Society in 1931.1 He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.)1 He was created 1st Baron Hazlerigg, of Noseley Hall, co.
