     Reverend Percival Laurence was born on 29 December 1829. He was the son of Joseph Laurence and Penelope Jackson. He was baptised on 5 February 1830 at St. ALfrege Church, Greenwich, Kent, England.1 He married Isabella Sarah Moorsom, daughter of Captain William Scarth Moorsom, on 13 April 1853 at Rochester, Kent, EnglandG. He died on 17 November 1913 at age 83 at Walesby, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.

     He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He wrote the book Letters From Nova Scotia, published 1830.1 He was a civil engineer.1 He was registered as a Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.) on 20 February 1849.1 He wrote the book On Reorganising the Administration of India, published 1858.1 He wrote the book Historical Records, 52nd Oxfordshire Light Infantry, published 1860.1

     Admiral Sir Robert Moorsom married Eleanor Scarth, daughter of Thomas Scarth.1 He died on 14 May 1835.1
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)2 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in the Royal Navy. He fought in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.1

     He was given the name of Joseph Levey at birth. His name was legally changed to Joseph Laurence.
