     Marion Isobel Mirrees was the daughter of James Buchanan Mirrees.1 She married Maj.-Gen. Sir Ivor Philipps, son of Reverend Sir James Erasmus Philipps, 12th Bt. and Hon. Mary Margaret Best, on 9 September 1891.1 She died on 3 July 1945.1
     She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)1 Her married name became Philipps. She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1920.1

Owen Cosby Philipps, 1st and last Baron Kylsant1

     Owen Cosby Philipps, 1st and last Baron Kylsant was born on 25 March 1863.2 He was the son of Reverend Sir James Erasmus Philipps, 12th Bt. and Hon. Mary Margaret Best.1,2 He married Mai Alice Magdalene Morris, daughter of Thomas Morris and Alice Lloyd, on 16 September 1902.2 He died on 5 June 1937 at age 74, without male issue.1
     He was apprenticed to a Newcastle shipping firm and later worked in shipping in Glasgow in 1886.2 He was founder of the King Line(shipping company) The Clyde in 1888.2 He was chairman and managing director of the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company (where he engineered the acquisition of Pacific Steam Navigation Company, Lamport & Holt, Nelson Line, Elder Dempster, Glen adn Shire Line, Union-Castle Mail Steamship Company, Harland & Wolff (Belfast), and Oceanic Steam Navigation Company (White Star Line) in 1902.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Pembrokeshire in 1904.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Pembroke Boroughs between 1906 and 1910.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1909.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Chester between 1916 and 1918.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1918 He lost this honour in 1931.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Chester, City of Chester Division between 1918 and 1922.1 He was created 1st Baron Kylsant, of Carmarthen, co. Carmarthen and of Amroth, co. Pembroke [U.K.] on 14 February 1923.1 He was appointed Knight of Justice, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.J.St.J.) in 1925 He lost this honour in 1931.1 In 1927 he acquired the Ocean Steam Navigation Company (trading as White Star Line) for £7 million.1 He held the office of Vice-Admiral of North Wales.1 He held the office of Vice-Admiral of Carmarthenshire.1 He was tried at the Old Bailey for publishing false accounts (1926/7), and a false prospectus (1928). He was acquitted of the charge of false accounts but the prospectus was held to be false because he had kept up payment of dividends from non-recurring revenues and from reserves.1

     Mai Alice Magdalene Morris was the daughter of Thomas Morris and Alice Lloyd.1,2 She married Owen Cosby Philipps, 1st and last Baron Kylsant, son of Reverend Sir James Erasmus Philipps, 12th Bt. and Hon. Mary Margaret Best, on 16 September 1902.2 She died on 14 December 1952.
     She held the office of Order of Mercy.2 She was appointed Dame of Justice, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.J.St.J.)1 Her married name became Philipps. She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1920.1 After her marriage, Mai Alice Magdalene Morris was styled as Baroness Kylsant on 14 February 1923.

     Hon. Olwen Gwynne Philipps was born in 1905.2 She was the daughter of Owen Cosby Philipps, 1st and last Baron Kylsant and Mai Alice Magdalene Morris.1 She married, firstly, Victor Alexander Charles Harbord, 7th Baron Suffield, son of Charles Harbord, 6th Baron Suffield and Evelyn Louisa Wilson Patten, on 21 February 1925.1 She and Victor Alexander Charles Harbord, 7th Baron Suffield were divorced in 1937.3 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Frank Richard Peter Barker, son of Christopher Barker, on 22 December 1937.2 She died on 24 July 1998.2
     After her marriage, Hon. Olwen Gwynne Philipps was styled as Baroness Suffield on 21 February 1925. From 21 February 1925, her married name became Harbord. From 22 December 1937, her married name became Barker. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire in 1955.2

     Victor Alexander Charles Harbord, 7th Baron Suffield was born on 12 September 1897.1 He was the son of Charles Harbord, 6th Baron Suffield and Evelyn Louisa Wilson Patten.1 He married Hon. Olwen Gwynne Philipps, daughter of Owen Cosby Philipps, 1st and last Baron Kylsant and Mai Alice Magdalene Morris, on 21 February 1925.2 He and Hon. Olwen Gwynne Philipps were divorced in 1937.1 He died on 11 June 1943 at age 45, without issue.1
     He held the office of Page of Honour to HM King George V between 1910 and 1914.1 He fought in the First World War between 1915 and 1918, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Guards.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron Suffield, of Suffield, co. Norfolk [G.B., 1786] on 10 February 1924.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Harbord [G.B., 1746] on 10 February 1924.1

     Evelyn Louisa Wilson Patten was the daughter of Captain Eustace John Wilson Patten and Emily Constantia Thynne. She married Charles Harbord, 6th Baron Suffield, son of Charles Harbord, 5th Baron Suffield and Cecilia Annetta Baring, on 26 November 1896.1 She died on 6 February 1951.
     Her married name became Harbord. After her marriage, Evelyn Louisa Wilson Patten was styled as Baroness Suffield on 9 April 1914. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk.1
