     Frederick Banbury, 1st Baron Banbury of Southam was born on 2 December 1850 at London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Frederick Banbury and Cecilia Laura Cox.1 He married Elizabeth Rosa Beale, daughter of Thomas Barbot Beale and Jane Hill, on 3 July 1873 at Christ Church, Lancaster Gate, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 13 August 1936 at age 85 at Warneford Place, Highworth, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was buried on 17 August 1936 at Sevenhampton Church, Highworth, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1
     He was educated between 1863 and 1866 at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He was admitted to London Stock Exchange in 1872.1 He was the head of Frederick Banbury and Sons, Stockbrokers between 1879 and 1906 at London, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Camberwell, Peckham Division between 1892 and 1906.1 He was created 1st Baronet Banbury, of Southam, co. Warwick [U.K.] on 6 January 1903.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for the City of London between 1906 and 1924.1 He was Chairman of the Great Northern Railway.1 He was a director of the London and Provincial Bank.1 He was created 1st Baron Banbury of Southam, of Southam, co. Warwick [U.K.] on 12 January 1924.1
     His Time stated that "he was a great Parliamentary 'character,' although he never held any official post, for he made himself a unique position as an opponent of change which he did not regard as progress" and "punctual in his attendance... he was always most carefully dressed and... would walk to his seat and look around at the increasingly slip-shod aattire of his colleagues with sad disapproval. The advent of women members into the House he regarded as nothing short of an outrage. Banbury, in fact, became an 'institution.1' " He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

     Elizabeth Rosa Beale was the daughter of Thomas Barbot Beale and Jane Hill.1 She married Frederick Banbury, 1st Baron Banbury of Southam, son of Frederick Banbury and Cecilia Laura Cox, on 3 July 1873 at Christ Church, Lancaster Gate, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 7 January 1930 at 41 Lowndes Street, London, EnglandG.1
     Her married name became Banbury. After her marriage, Elizabeth Rosa Beale was styled as Baroness Banbury of Southam on 21 January 1924.
     She was a great lover of animals, and very involved in the work of the RSPCA and the Dumb Friends League.1

     Charles William Banbury, 2nd Baron Banbury of Southam was born posthumously on 18 May 1915 at London, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of Captain Charles William Banbury and Josephine Marguerite Reixach y Gisbert.1 He was baptised at Guard's Chapel, Wellington Barracks, London, EnglandG.1 He married Hilda Ruth Carr, daughter of Archibald Hamilton Rowan Carr, on 1 March 1945.3 He and Hilda Ruth Carr were divorced in 1958.3 He died on 29 April 1981 at age 65.3
     He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Banbury, of Southam, co. Warwick [U.K., 1903] on 13 August 1936.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Banbury of Southam, of Southam, co. Warwick [U.K., 1924] on 13 August 1936.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he wa mentikoned in dispatches.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 12th Lancers.2 He held the office of County Councillor in 1958.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1965.2 He held the office of County Alderman in 1967.2

     Hilda Ruth Carr is the daughter of Archibald Hamilton Rowan Carr.1 She married, firstly, Charles William Banbury, 2nd Baron Banbury of Southam, son of Captain Charles William Banbury and Josephine Marguerite Reixach y Gisbert, on 1 March 1945.1 She and Charles William Banbury, 2nd Baron Banbury of Southam were divorced in 1958.1 She married, secondly, Major Robert Oswald Guy Gardner in 1959.2 She married, thirdly, Richard Frederick Norman in 1988.2
     After her marriage, Hilda Ruth Carr was styled as Baroness Banbury of Southam on 1 March 1945. From 1 March 1945, her married name became Banbury. From 1959, her married name became Gardner.2 From 1988, her married name became Norman.2
