Patrick Abercromby1

     Patrick Abercromby was born in 1656.2 He was the son of Alexander Abercromby and Jean Seton.1 He died circa 1716.2
     He wrote the book Memoirs of the Family of Abercromby.1 He was a physician.1 He wrote the book Martial Achievements of the Scottish Nation.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

John Fane1

     John Fane was born on 6 January 1751.1 He was the son of Henry Fane and Charlotte Luther.1 He married Lady Elizabeth Parker, daughter of Thomas Parker, 3rd Earl of Macclesfield and Mary Heathcote, on 16 November 1773.1 He died on 8 February 1824 at age 73.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) between 1796 and 1824.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) in 1797.1 He lived at Wormsley, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He also had a daughter, who died unmarried.1

     John Fane was born on 9 July 1775.1 He was the son of John Fane and Lady Elizabeth Parker.1 He married Elizabeth Lowndes-Stone, daughter of William Lowndes-Stone-Norton and Elizabeth Garth, on 6 June 1802.1 He died on 4 October 1850 at age 75.1
     He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) in 1824.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) between 1824 and 1831.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Oxfordshire in 1836.1 He lived at Wormsley, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1

William Francis Lowndes-Stone-Norton1

     William Francis Lowndes-Stone-Norton was born on 27 October 1783.2 He was the son of William Lowndes-Stone-Norton and Elizabeth Garth. He married Caroline Strickland, daughter of Sir William Strickland, 6th Bt. and Henrietta Cholmley, on 9 October 1811.3 He died in 1858.2
     He was given the name of William Lowndes-Stone at birth.2 He lived at Brightwell Park, Brightwell Baldwin, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1

     Commander Francis Wharton Darwin is the son of Colonel Charles Waring Darwin.1 He married Beryl Georgina Louisa Orde-Powlett, daughter of Colonel Thomas Charles Orde-Powlett and Harriet Georgiana Rooper, on 14 September 1921.1
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.1

Joanna Hobhouse1

     Joanna Hobhouse was the daughter of Sir Benjamin Hobhouse, 1st Bt. and Amelia Parry.1 She married Reverend Frederick Adrian Scrope Fane, son of John Fane and Elizabeth Lowndes-Stone, on 10 June 1834.1 She died on 8 April 1878.1
     Her married name became Fane.

     Lieutenant Charles Lawrence Mackness was born on 28 February 1911. He was the son of William Reginald Mackness and Ethel Jane Lawrence.1 He married Constance Isabel Ward, daughter of Lt.-Col. Guy Bernard Campbell Ward and Beatrice Constance Charlotte Butler, on 23 December 1932.1 He died on 6 October 1943 at age 32 at Termoli, Italy, killed in action.1
     He was educated between 1924 and 1929 at King's School, Canterbury, Kent, EnglandG. He fought in the Second World War. He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the The Buffs.1
