     Violet Mary Beauclerk was born on 2 November 1883 at Rome, ItalyG.1 She was the daughter of William Nelthorpe Beauclerk and Jane Isabella Rathborne.1 She married John Talbot Clifton, son of Thomas Henry Clifton and Madeline Diana Elizabeth Agnew, on 1 February 1907.1 She died on 20 November 1961 at age 78.1
     Her married name became Clifton. She was iin the First World War.1 She wrote the book The Book of talbot, published 1933.1 She was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.1 She was a Poor Clare nun between 1950 and 1956.1
