     He fought in the Munshi Expedition, North Nigeria in 1906.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the The Rifle Brigade.1 He fought in the First World War between 1917 and 1918.1

     Ernest Claude Meysey-Thompson was born on 18 February 1859.1 He was the son of Sir Harry Stephen Meysey-Thompson, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Anne Croft.1 He married Alice Jane Blanche Joicey, daughter of Colonel John Joicey, on 1 November 1894.1 He died on 28 February 1944 at age 85.1
