John Machell married Ursula Hynde, daughter of Sir Francis Hynde and Jane Verney.1
He lived at Hackney, London, England.1 He lost his Cambridgeshire estates through debt.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 In 1602 half of the manor of Woodbury was recovered by Sir William Hynde on behalf of Ursula, from forfeiture to another credtior under Statute Staple for Mechandize, on teh grounds that it had formed her marriage settlement secured upon a loan from Sir Francis Hynde which had never been repaid and was therefore held by Elegit.1
