Edward Vaux, 4th Baron Vaux of Harrowden was born on 13 September 1588.1 He was the son of Hon. George Vaux and Hon. Elizabeth Roper.1 He married Lady Elizabeth Howard, daughter of Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Suffolk and Katherine Knyvett, before 2 July 1632.2 He died on 8 September 1661 at age 72, without issue.1,2 He was buried at Dorking, Surrey, EnglandG.2
He succeeded as the 4th Baron Vaux of Harrowden, co. Northampton [E., 1523] on 20 August 1595.3 He was suspected (like his mother) of involvement in the Gunpowder Plot.3 From March 1611/12 to 1614 he was imprisoned for refusing to take the Oath of Allegiance.3 He gained the rank of Colonel between 1622 and 1624 in the an English regiment in Spanish service in Flanders.3 From 13 November 1625 to 25 November 1625 he was imprisoned for resisting a search of his house for concealed weapons.3
