William Wilson Carus Wilson was born on 24 July 1764.1 He was the son of William Carus and Elizabeth Wilson.1 He married Margaret Shippard, daughter of Benjamin Shippard and Agnes Chamney, on 10 September 1787.1 He died on 11 February 1851 at age 86.1
He lived at Casterton Hall, Kirkby Lonsdale, Westmorland, England.1 He was given the name of William Wilson Carus at birth.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 On 1 March 1793 his name was legally changed to William Wilson Carus Wilson by Sign Manual.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cockermouth between 1821 and 1827.1
