He married Dorviegelda Malvina Mac Gregor, daughter of Alexander Ronald Alasdair Mac Gregor and Gertrude Blanche Murray, on 15 November 1947.1 He died on 2 July 1976 at age 60.1
     S/Ldr. Algernon Ivan Sladen also went by the nick-name of Toby.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He gained the rank of Squadron leader in the Royal Air Force.2

     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)4 He lived at Holywells, Ipswich, Suffolk, EnglandG.1
