Madeline Emmie Louisa Bourke was the daughter of Major Hon. Edward Roden Bourke and Emma Mary Augusta Hatch.1 She married Samuel Howard Whitbread, son of Samuel Whitbread and Lady Isabella Charlotte Pelham, on 16 January 1904.1 She died on 5 August 1961.1
She was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)1 From 16 January 1904, her married name became Whitbread.1 She was president of the Women's Land Army between 1914 and 1918.1

He married, firstly, Anne Joscelyne Whitbread, daughter of Samuel Howard Whitbread and Madeline Emmie Louisa Bourke, on 27 April 1927. He married, secondly, Betty Parr Russell, daughter of Samuel Russell, on 26 April 1941.2 He died in 1994.3
