Arthur James Plunkett, 10th Earl of Fingall was born on 10 May 1819 at Naples, Italy.1 He was the son of Arthur Plunkett, 9th Earl of Fingall and Louisa Emilia Corbally.2 He married Elsie Mary Rio, daughter of Francis Alexis Rio, on 12 February 1857.2 He died on 24 April 1881 at age 61.1
He gained the rank of Major in the 8th Hussars.2 He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Fingall [I., 1628] on 24 May 1867.2 He succeeded as the 18th Lord Killeen [I., c. 1449] on 24 May 1867.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Fingall, of Woolhampton Lodge, co. Berks [U.K., 1831] on 24 May 1867.2
