Mungo Maxwell was born in May 1700 at Glenshinnoch, Perwick, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.2 He was the son of Sir Robert Maxwell, 4th Bt. and Ann Lindsay.1 He married Mary Cairns.1 He died in June 1740 at age 40 at Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, drowned in the River Urr.2
