Sir Michael Smith, 1st Bt. was born on 7 September 1740.1 He was the son of William Smith and Hester Lynch.1 He married, firstly, Mary Anne Cusack, daughter of James Cusack, in 1765.1 He married, secondly, Eleanor Smith, daughter of Michael Smith, in 1808.1 He died on 17 December 1808 at age 68.1
