Sir John Goodricke, 1st Bt. was born on 20 April 1617.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Goodricke and Jane Savile. He married Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Alexander Smith. He married Catherine Norcliffe, daughter of Stephen Norcliffe and Elizabeth Udall, on 7 October 1641.2 He died in November 1670 at age 53.1
He was educated at Jesus College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was created 1st Baronet Goodricke [England] on 14 August 1641. He was appointed Knight in November 1641.1 He gained the rank of Colonel of Horse in 1642/43 in the Royalist Army.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yorkshire between 1661 and 1670.1

Sir John Goodricke, 5th Bt. was born on 20 May 1708.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Goodricke, 4th Bt. and Mary Jenkyns.1 He married Mary Benson, daughter of Robert Benson, 1st and last Baron of Bingley, on 28 September 1731.1 He died on 3 August 1789 at age 81.1
