Sarah Ann Russell Thomas1

     Sarah Ann Russell Thomas was born on 3 December 1809 at Calcutta, India.1 She was the daughter of Robert Moseley Thomas and Ann Trepaud Macdougall Campbell.1 She married Sir Henry Byng Harington, son of Henry Hawes Harington and Martha Nicholls, on 12 September 1829 at Calcutta, India.1 She died on 11 December 1871 at age 62 at Eastbourne, Sussex, England.1 She was buried on 17 December 1871 at Kensal Green Cemetery, London, England.1 Her will was proven (by probate) on 5 March 1892.1
     From 12 September 1829, her married name became Harington.1 Her last will was dated 23 February 1885.1

     From 19 November 1853, her married name became Sherer.1

     John Walter Sherer was born on 31 December 1823 at Snenton Manor, Nottinghamshire, England.1 He was the son of John Walter Sherer and Mary Corrie.1 He married, firstly, Louisa Georgina Harington, daughter of Sir Henry Byng Harington and Sarah Ann Russell Thomas, on 19 November 1853 at Agra, India.1 He married, secondly, Annie Watson, daughter of Colonel Edward John Watson and Jane Campbell Thomas, on 26 September 1867 at West Brompton, London, England.1
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England.1 He was with the Bengal Civil Service in 1846.1 He held the office of Magistrate and Collector of Cawnpore.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.) in 1866.1 He wrote the book At Home In India.1
