     Gideon Walrave Boissevain was born on 29 August 1897 at Montreal, Quebec, Canada.1 He was the son of Charles Daniël Walrave Boissevain and Willemina de Vos.1 He married, firstly, Daisy Eve Ray on 28 July 1925 at Singapore.1 He married, secondly, Maria Solovieff, daughter of Boris Nikolaevich Solovieff and Maria Grigorievna Rasputin, in 1947 at Paris, France.1 He and Daisy Eve Ray were divorced on 1 August 1947 at The Hague, The Netherlands.1 He died on 5 October 1985 at age 88 at Marseille, France.1
     He held the office of Dutch Ambassador to Cuba between 1957 and 1963.1
