     Sir John Eldon Bankes was born on 17 April 1854.1 He was the son of John Scott Bankes and Annie Jervis.1 He married Edith Ethelston in 1882.1 He died on 31 December 1946 at age 92.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was admitted to Inner temple in 1878 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of Judge of the King's Bench Division of the High Court in 1910.1 He held the office of Lord Justice of Appeal.1
