     William Draper Best, 1st Baron Wynford was born on 13 December 1767.1 He was the son of Thomas Best.2 He married Mary Anne Knapp, daughter of Jerome Knapp, on 6 May 1794.1 He died on 3 March 1845 at age 77.1
     He lived at Crewkerne School, England.1 He was educated at Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1789 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was a practising Serjeant-at-Law in 1800.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Petersfield between 1802 and 1806.1 He was a practising , King's Serjeant in 1806.1 He held the office of Recorder of Guildford in 1809.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Bridport between 1812 and 1817.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General to the Prince of Wales between 1813 and 1816.1 He held the office of Attorney-General to the Prince of Wales between 1816 and 1819.1 He held the office of Second Justice of Chester between 1817 and 1818.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Guildford between 1818 and 1819.1 He held the office of Judge of the King's Bench between 1818 and 1824.1 He held the office of Chief Justice of Chester between January 1818 and November 1818.1 He was appointed Knight in 1819.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1824.1 He held the office of Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas between 1824 and 1829.1 He held the office of Deputy Speaker, House of Lords in 1829.1 He was created 1st Baron Wynford, 1st Baron Wynford [U.K.] on 5 June 1829.1

     Mary Anne Knapp was the daughter of Jerome Knapp.2 She married William Draper Best, 1st Baron Wynford, son of Thomas Best, on 6 May 1794.1 She died on 5 March 1840.1
     From 6 May 1794, her married name became Best. After her marriage, Mary Anne Knapp was styled as Baroness Wynford on 5 June 1829.

     Jane Thoyts was born circa 1803.1 She was the daughter of William Thoyts.2 She married William Samuel Best, 2nd Baron Wynford, son of William Draper Best, 1st Baron Wynford and Mary Anne Knapp, on 21 July 1821.1 She died on 23 February 1895.1
     From 21 July 1821, her married name became Best. After her marriage, Jane Thoyts was styled as Baroness Wynford on 3 March 1845.
