     William Hayward Wakefield was born in 1797.1 He was the son of Edward Wakefield and Susanna Crash.2 He married Emily Elizabeth Shelley Sidney, daughter of Sir John Shelley Sidney, 1st Bt. and Henrietta Hunloke, on 26 March 1826.1 He died in 1849.1
     He gained the rank of General in the Spanish Army.1 He was a colonial administrator at New Zealand.1
