     Henry Edward Fox-Strangways, 5th Earl of Ilchester was born on 13 September 1847.1 He was the son of Hon. John George Charles Fox-Strangways and Amelia Barbara Marjoribanks.1 He married Lady Mary Eleanor Anne Dawson, daughter of Richard Dawson, 1st Earl of Dartrey and Augusta Stanley, on 8 February 1872.2 He died on 6 December 1905 at age 58.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Ilchester [G.B., 1756] on 10 January 1865.1 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Ilchester, co. Somerset, Baron of Woodford Strangways, co. Dorset [G.B., 1741] on 10 January 1865.1 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Ilchester and Stavordale, Baron of Redlynch, co. Somerset [G.B., 1747] on 10 January 1865.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Dorset Yeomanry Cavalry.1 He held the office of Captain of the Gentleman at Arms between January 1874 and February 1874.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset between 1895 and 1905.1

She was the daughter of Richard Dawson, 1st Earl of Dartrey and Augusta Stanley.1 She married Henry Edward Fox-Strangways, 5th Earl of Ilchester, son of Hon. John George Charles Fox-Strangways and Amelia Barbara Marjoribanks, on 8 February 1872.1 She died on 25 October 1935.2
     From 8 February 1872, her married name became Fox-Strangways. After her marriage, Lady Mary Eleanor Anne Dawson was styled as Countess of Ilchester on 8 February 1872.

John George Charles Fox-Strangways was born posthumously on 6 February 1803.2 He was the son of Henry Thomas Fox-Strangways, 2nd Earl of Ilchester and Maria Digby.2 He married Amelia Barbara Marjoribanks, daughter of Edward Marjoribanks and Georgiana de Lautour, on 19 February 1844.2 He died on 8 September 1859 at age 56.2
     He was with the Foreign Office.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Calnes.2 He was Gentleman Usher to Queen Adelaide.2 He lived at Brickworth House, Wiltshire, EnglandG.2

     Amelia Barbara Marjoribanks was born on 16 September 1815.2 She was the daughter of Edward Marjoribanks and Georgiana de Lautour.1,2 She was baptised on 20 October 1815 at St. Marylebone Church, Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, England.2 She married Hon. John George Charles Fox-Strangways, son of Henry Thomas Fox-Strangways, 2nd Earl of Ilchester and Maria Digby, on 19 February 1844.3 She died on 9 September 1886 at age 70.3
     Her married name became Fox-Strangways.

     Henry Thomas Fox-Strangways, 2nd Earl of Ilchester was born on 9 August 1747.1 He was the son of Stephen Fox-Strangways, 1st Earl of Ilchester and Elizabeth Horner.1 He married, firstly, Mary Theresa O'Grady, daughter of Standish O'Grady and Mary Hungerford, on 20 August 1772.1 He married, secondly, Maria Digby, daughter of Very Rev. Hon. William Digby and Charlotte Cox, on 28 August 1794.1 He died on 5 September 1802 at age 55.1
     He was given the name of Henry Thonas Fox at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Midhurst between 1768 and 1774.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1771 in the 24th Foot.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Ilchester, co. Somerset, Baron of Woodford Strangways, co.      Mary Theresa O'Grady was born in 1755.2 She was the daughter of Standish O'Grady and Mary Hungerford.1,3 She married Henry Thomas Fox-Strangways, 2nd Earl of Ilchester, son of Stephen Fox-Strangways, 1st Earl of Ilchester and Elizabeth Horner, on 20 August 1772.4 She died on 14 June 1790.4
     Her married name became Fox-Strangways. After her marriage, Mary Theresa O'Grady was styled as Countess of Ilchester on 29 September 1776.
