Cordelia Ainslie was the daughter of George Ainslie.2 She married Maj.-Gen. Sir George Whitmore, son of George Whitmore and Mary Wall, on 16 January 1798.1 She died on 19 December 1857.1

Major George St. Vincent Whitmore was born on 28 November 1798.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Sir George Whitmore and Cordelia Ainslie.2 He married Isabella Maxwell Stoddart, daughter of Sir John Stoddart and Isabella Wellwood-Moncreiff, on 22 February 1827.1 He died on 12 November 1851 at age 52.1

Isabella Maxwell Stoddart was the daughter of Sir John Stoddart and Isabella Wellwood-Moncreiff.2 She married Major George St. Vincent Whitmore, son of Maj.-Gen. Sir George Whitmore and Cordelia Ainslie, on 22 February 1827.1 She died on 18 April 1885.1

Sir George Stoddart Whitmore was born on 30 May 1829.1 He was the son of Major George St. Vincent Whitmore and Isabella Maxwell Stoddart.2 He married Isabella Smith, daughter of William Smith, on 11 March 1865.1 He died on 16 March 1903 at age 73, without issue.1
He was educated at Edinburgh Academy, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He fought in the Kaffir Wars in 1847.1 He was commissioned in 1847 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Cape Mounted Rifles.1 He fought in the Kaffir Wars between 1851 and 1853.1 He fought in the Crimean War between 1855 and 1856.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [New Zealand] between 1863 and 1903.1 He fought in the Maori Wars between 1866 and 1869.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 62nd Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in 1868 in the New Zealand Militia.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1869.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1874.1 He held the office of Colonial Secretary and Defence Minister [New Zealand] between 1877 and 1879.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1882.1
