     Maj.-Gen. Sir Francis Howard was born on 26 March 1848.2 He was the son of Sir Henry Francis Howard and Marie Ernestine von der Schulenburg.2 He married Gertrude Jane Boyd, daughter of Hugh Conyngham Boyd, on 23 April 1895.2 He died on 21 March 1930 at age 81.2
     He fought in the Jowaki Expedition in 1878.2 He fought in the Lughman Expedition between 1878 and 1879.2 He was awarded the Afghan War.2 He fought in the Burma Expedition between 1888 and 1889.2 He fought in the Crete Campaign in 1898.2 He fought in the Sudan Expedition in 1898.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Gloucestershire.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Gloucestershire.2 He gained the rank of Colonel between 1912 and 1913 in the Gloucestershire Regiment.2 He was Colonel Commandant of the Rifle Brigade between 1913 and 1922.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He was Inspector-General of Infantry.2

     Her married name became Howard.

George Patrick Hyde Villiers and Louisa Maria Maquay.2 He married Marjorie Howard, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Francis Howard and Gertrude Jane Boyd, on 16 September 1931.1 He died on 12 March 1942 at age 50.1
     He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards (Special Reserve.)1
