Sir Walter Vavasour, 2nd Bt.1

     Sir Walter Vavasour, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1612.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Vavasour, 1st Bt. and Ursula Giffard.2 He married Ursula Belasyse, daughter of Thomas Belasyse, 1st Viscount Fauconberg of Henknowle and Barbara Cholmley, circa 8 March 1635/36.1 He died after 13 August 1666.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Vavasour [E., 1628] before March 1635/36.1 He raised a cavalry regiment for King Charles I in the Civil War.1 In 1660 he was nominated a Knight of Royal Oak (an order of chivalry planned by King Charles II but never instituted.)1
