     Captain Samuel Hynman Montgomerie was born on 28 October 1856 at Louth, Lincolnshire, England.² He was the son of Henry Hynman Allenby and Eliza Bourne.^3,2 He married Lady Sophia Constance Montgomerie, daughter of Archibald William Montgomerie, 14th Earl of Eglinton and Lady Sophia Adelaide Theodosia Anderson-Pelham, on 15 January 1885.¹ He died on 15 June 1915 at age 58.⁴
     He was given the name of Samuel Hyman Allenby at birth.⁴ In 1893 his name was legally changed to Samuel Hynman Montgomerie by Royal Licence.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He lived at Garnsgate Hall, Lincolnshire, England^G.

     Jamesina Joyce Ellen Stewart was the daughter of John Stewart.¹ She married, firstly, Henry L'Estrange Styleman le Strange, son of Henry Styleman and Emilia Preedy, in 1839.¹ She married, secondly, Charles Griffiths Wynne-Finch, son of Charles Wynn Griffith-Wynne and Sarah Hildyard, on 7 September 1863.¹ She died on 6 July 1892.¹
