     Charlotte Nelthorpe was born in 1817 at South Ferriby, Lincolnshire, England.2 She was the daughter of John Nelthorpe and Christian Brown.3,2 She married Reverend Robert Sutton, son of Robert Nassau Sutton and Mary Georgiana Manners-Sutton, on 4 May 1847.1 She died on 11 November 1872.1
     From 4 May 1847, her married name became Sutton.

Major Robert Nassau Sutton-Nelthorpe1

     Major Robert Nassau Sutton-Nelthorpe was born on 13 May 1850.1 He was the son of Reverend Robert Sutton and Charlotte Nelthorpe.2 He married Hon. Dulcibella Eden, daughter of William George Eden, 4th Baron Auckland and Lucy Walbanke-Childers, on 1 January 1885.1 He died on 17 November 1937 at age 87.1
     He was given the name of Robert Nassau Sutton at birth.1 In 1884 his name was legally changed to Robert Nassau Sutton-Nelthorpe by Royal Licence.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 8th Hussars.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1918.1 He lived at Scawby Hall, Lincolnshire, England.1
