     Alexander Shaw of Tordarroch, 10th Chief of Clan Ay was born in 1737.1 He was the son of Aeneas Shaw of Tordarroch, 9th Chief of Clan Ay and Isabel Dallas.2 He married, firstly, Charlotte Stewart, daughter of Reverend John Stewart and Anne Mackenzie.1 He married, secondly, Anne Elizabeth Blanckley, daughter of Major Henry Staniforth Blanckley.2 He died on 30 May 1811 at Bath, Somerset, England.2
     He held the position of 10th Chief of the Clan Ay from.1 He held the position of 15th Chief of the Clan Shaw from.2 He fought in the Seven Years War between 1754 and 1760.1 He gained the rank of officer in 1756 in the Royal American Regiment of Foot.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to General Provost.1 He fought in the Capture of Quebec in 1759, where he was severely wounded.1 He gained the rank of Adjutant in 1776 in the 4th Battalion.1 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of the Isle of Man between 1790 and 1804.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1794 in the Manx Fencibles.1 He sold Wester Leys.1

     Aeneas Shaw was born in 1739/40.1 He was the son of Aeneas Shaw of Tordarroch, 9th Chief of Clan Ay and Isabel Dallas.2 He married Anne Goslin in 1783.1 He died on 6 February 1814.1
     He gained the rank of Ensign in 1784 in the 39th Foot Regiment (later Dorsetshire Regiment.)1 He fought in the American War of Independence.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1787.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1791 in the Queen's Rangers.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1794 in the Simcoe's Corps.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1797 in the Queen's Rangers.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1808.1 He rejoined the Rangers and sent to build Toronto.1 He gained the rank of Adjutant-General in 1811 in the Canadian Militia.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1811.1 He held the office of Member, Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Upper Canada] in 1813.1 He had five sons (all army officers) and five daughters.1
