Margaret Ligertwood is the daughter of James Ligertwood.2 She married Sir William Seton of Pitmedden, 6th Bt., son of Charles Seton, on 23 November 1775.1

Major James Seton was the son of Sir William Seton of Pitmedden, 6th Bt. and Margaret Ligertwood.2 He married Frances Coote, daughter of Captain George Coote.1 He died in 1814, from wounds received in the Peninsular War.1
He fought in the Peninsular Wars.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 92nd Highlanders.1 He also had two daughters.1

Sir William Coote Seton, 7th Bt. was born on 19 December 1808.1 He was the son of Major James Seton and Frances Coote.2 He married Eliza Henrietta Lumsden, daughter of Henry Lumsden of Cushnie, on 26 November 1834.1 He died on 30 December 1880 at age 72.1
He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Seton, of Pitmedden, co. Aberdeen [N.S., 1684] on 16 February 1818.1 He was a practising advocate in 1831.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Aberdeenshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Aberdeenshire.1 He lived at Pitmedden, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1

Eliza Henrietta Lumsden was the daughter of Henry Lumsden of Cushnie.2 She married, firstly, Captain John Wilson before 1834.1 She married, secondly, Sir William Coote Seton, 7th Bt., son of Major James Seton and Frances Coote, on 26 November 1834.1 She died on 24 April 1873.1

Sir James Lumsden Seton of Pitmedden, 8th Bt. was born on 1 September 1835.1 He was the son of Sir William Coote Seton, 7th Bt. and Eliza Henrietta Lumsden.2 He married Elizabeth Castle, daughter of George Castle, on 20 October 1870.1 He died on 28 September 1884 at age 49, without issue.1
He fought in the Abyssinia and Burma campaigns.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 102nd Regiment.1 He fought in the Indian Mutiny.1 He was awarded the Order of the Iron Cross, 2nd Class of Prussia in 1870 for saving life on the battlefield of the Franco-Prussian War.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Seton, of Pitmedden, co. Aberdeen [N.S., 1684] on 30 December 1880.1
