Captain Charles Whitworth Russell was born on 10 August 1828.1 He was the son of Reverend Whitworth Russell and Frances Carpenter.2 He married Maria Barnston Daubeny, daughter of General Henry Daubeny, on 28 September 1854.1 He died on 30 October 1863 at age 35, without issue.1
