     He lived at Golborne Park, Lancashire, England.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1 He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Lyme Park, Cheshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newton between 1819 and 1831.1

     Ellen Turner was born circa 1811.2 She was the daughter of William Turner.3 She married Edward Gibbon Wakefield, son of Edward Wakefield and Susanna Crash, in March 1826 at Gretna Green, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2 She married Thomas Legh, son of Thomas Peter Legh, on 14 January 1829.1 She died in 1831.1
     From March 1826, her married name became Wakefield.2 From 14 January 1829, her married name became Legh. Her marriage to Edward Gibbon Wakefield was annulled by Act of parliament.2
