     Rear-Admiral Peter Douglas Herbert Raymond Pelly was born on 24 September 1904.1 He was the son of Reverend Douglas Raymond Pelly and Verena Noellie Herbert.2 He married Gwenllian Violet Edwardes, daughter of Major Hon. George Henry Edwardes and Olive Kerr, on 29 December 1932.1 He died on 13 February 1980 at age 75.1,3
     He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1942.1 He wrote the book Officer, Order of Orange-Nassau of Holland.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1958.1 He retired from the military in 1960, with the rank of Rear-Admiral.1

     Reverend Douglas Raymond Pelly was born on 20 February 1865.1 He was the son of Rev. Canon Raymond Percy Pelly and Alice Schaffalitzky Larkins.2 He married Verena Noellie Herbert, daughter of Reverend George W. Herbert, on 14 May 1898.1 He died on 14 March 1943 at age 78.1
     He graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the Matabele War in 1896.1 He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers' Decoration (V.D.)1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches three times.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He was the Rector at Woolbeding, Midhurst, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Chaplain of the Forces in 1921.1 He lived at Balsam House, Wincanton, Somerset, EnglandG.
