Gerald de Rocheforte1

     Gerald de Rocheforte was the son of Sir William de Rocheforte of Kill and Eglantina (?)1 He died in 1349.1
     He held the office of Constable of the Castle of Femes.1 In 1339 he was summoned to the Parliament at Dublin.1

     Sir Mansfield George Smith-Cumming was born on 1 April 1859 at India.1 He was the son of Colonel John Thomas Smith and Maria Sarah Tyser.1 He married, firstly, Dora Cloete, daughter of Henry Cloete, in 1885.1 He married, secondly, Leslie Marian Cumming, daughter of Lockhart Muir Cumming and Emily Frances Cumming, on 13 March 1889 at Bridgwater, Somerset, England.1 He died on 14 June 1923 at age 64 at 1 Melbury Road, Kensington, London, England.1
     He was given the name of Mansfield George Smith at birth.1 He was educated at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned in 1872 with the rank of Sub-Lieutenant, in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Egyptian Campaign in 1882.1 He retired from the military in 1885, with the rank of Captain.1 In 1889 his name was legally changed to Mansfield George Smith-Cumming.1 In 1889 his name was legally changed to Mansfield George Smith Cumming.1 He was head of the Foreign Section of the Secret Service Bureau, later MI6 between 1909 and 1923.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1914.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1919.1

     Colonel John Thomas Smith was born in 1805 at Nottinghamshire, England.1 He married Maria Sarah Tyser, daughter of Robert Tyser and Arabella Maria Bayley, in 1837.1 He died in 1882.1
     He lived at Föellalt House, Kent, England.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.1

     Maria Sarah Tyser was born in 1816 at Tiverton, Devon, England.2 She was the daughter of Robert Tyser and Arabella Maria Bayley.2 She married Colonel John Thomas Smith in 1837.1
     From 1837, her married name became Smith.1
