     Merrick Persse Maturin was born on 22 October 1862 at Rathmullan, County Donegal, Ireland.1 He was the son of Reverend Edmund Maturin and Elizabeth Catherine Persse.1 He married Elizabeth Knox Warke, daughter of William Warke, on 5 August 1890 at Castlerock, County Londonderry, Ireland.1 He died on 14 February 1938 at age 75.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1880 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1887 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2

     Reverend Adam Hepburn of Kirklandhill was the son of John Hepburn of Kirklandhill.1 He married Agnes Foulis, daughter of Henry Foulis of Colinton and Margaret Haldane.1 He died in October 1602.1
     He was the Minister at Stobo, Peebles-shire, Scotland.1 He purchased Humbie and Hartside in 1586.1

     Sir Adam Hepburn of Humbie was born before 1600.1 He was the son of Reverend Adam Hepburn of Kirklandhill and Agnes Foulis.1 He married Agnes Foulis, daughter of George Foulis, 1st of Ravelston and Janet Bannatyne, on 30 December 1629 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He died between 1656 and 1658.1
     He held the office of Senator of the College of Justice.1 He was appointed Knight on 15 November 1641.1 He was Collector-General and treasurer to the Army on 17 August 1643.1 He was Colonel of the infantry regiment, raised in East Lothian, in General Leslie's army of the Covenant between 1646 and February 1647.1 In 1651 he was captured by Colonel Aldriche at Alyth, and sent to London.1
