     Margaret Helen Murdoch is the daughter of William Murdoch.2 She married Francis Moffat, son of William Moffat and Mary Moffat, on 30 October 1883 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1
     From 30 October 1883, her married name became Moffat.

     William Murdoch Moffat was born in 1884.1 He was the son of Francis Moffat and Margaret Helen Murdoch.2 He married Jean Guthrie Troup, daughter of Reverend George Elmslie Troup, on 16 June 1914 at Broughty Ferry, Angus, Scotland.1 He died on 26 April 1948 at Moffat, Scotland.1
     He became one of the biggest sheep-farmers in southern Scotland, owning some 10,000 acres.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1

     Francis Moffat of that Ilk was born on 27 March 1915 at Moffat, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.1 He was the son of William Murdoch Moffat and Jean Guthrie Troup.2 He married Margaret Carrington, daughter of William Chambers Carrington, on 17 September 1946.1 He died in April 1992 at age 77.1
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dumfries-shire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dumfries-shire.1
